He suggested that Seth contact IML Airscience (307-674-7506 Keith Fox kfox@imlinc.com) regarding the purchasing of the test equipment. He stated that ideally the test data should cover a one year period. Phone Conference 12/28/2004 Seth Carson and Keith Fox from IML Airscience. Seth contacted Keith about the purchasing the wind testing equipment. Keith explained the different options and some preliminary pricing. Also discussed was the communication and data transfer options. Keith stated that IML could either provide and/or install the tower and anemometer. Seth said he would talk with purchasing regarding this item. Phone Conference 12/29/2004 Seth Carson and Ralph Know from Taylor-Korhs. Ralph contacted Seth to get some questions answered related to the geo-exchange system. A questionnaire was drafted by Jack Major that was specifically related to the number of occupants and computers in the building. Seth said he would circulate this questionnaire from Major Geothermal to Tim Macnamara, Tim Laughlin, Phil Neal, and Michael Walters. Seth stated that all of these individuals would need to fill out the form and faxed it back, then Seth would pass it on to Ralph then to Jack. Phone Conference 12/29/2004 Seth Carson and Jack Major for Major-Geothermal (jack@majorgeothermal.com). Seth contacted Jack to get a better copy of the occupancy spreadsheet. Seth asked Jack if flat screen computers make much of a difference when calculating the cooling load. Jack stated he didnt account for the difference. Also, Jack stated that the sooner we get these number back to him the sooner an accurate bid could be delivered and the design could be finalized. Seth also asked which set of plans Jack was going off. Jack said that it was a plan set from October 2004. Seth said he would try to get Jack a newer plan set next week. Attached here is the spreadsheet (pdf file). Please fill it out and fax it back to Seth at 307-742-0338. Phone Conference 12/29/2004 Seth Carson and Tim Laughlin from Midyette Architects. Seth said that he could wait till then. Seth also asked Tim about occupancy ratings for the building. He stated that for classrooms it would be 1 person per 15 SQFT and for the commons and hallways it would be 1 person per 100 SQFT and figure 2 people per faculty office as per code. Meeting 12/30/2004 Seth Carson and Don Davis from Fremont Electric. Seth stopped by Dons office to see how the negotiating was going for the electrical and IT services to be provided by Fremont Electric. Don stated that he meet with his electrical engineer Randy Bremmer (randyb@aspinc.com) and LCCC IT staff the previous week. In short he explained that the proposed IT wiring was extremely ambitious and overkill. Don said he toured the LCCC business in Cheyenne and said that the proposed plan by Michael Walters was not going work with the GMP Taylor-Kohrs budget for both the electrical (mainly outlet abundance) and IT wiring. Although, he did state that he could come up with very good solution, given LCCCs budget that would satisfy the LCCC. Seth suggested that Don and Randy be given the opportunity to design/build and electrical and IT system to fit the budget. Seth also voiced his opinion that they should get into contract with Taylor Kohrs ASAP. Phone Conference 12/31/2004 Seth Carson and Randy Bremmer (APS) Seth contacted Randy to discuss the electrical, IT, and energy producing technology. Randy stated the LCCC needed to develop a scope of service for the project. Also discussed was the scope for the electrical/IT items. Randy echoed Don Davis thoughts on the overzealous IT and electrical requirements. Seth shared concerns for the budget. Also discussed were the energy items. Seth stated that Randy needed to separate the design time for these items as they related to the energy grant. Seth stated that he would help finalize the scope of the design service with LCCC. Task completed Seth Carson finished this weeks report and posted on the project website 1/3/2004. |
